IT Home reported on November 22nd that the second phase of Jinan Metro Line 3 officially opened for operation at 11:00 am on November 22nd, bringing the airport and Qujiazhuang under the coverage of the subway network.
Line Extension
At 11:00 am on November 22nd, the initial operation of Jinan Metro Line 3 Phase II also opened a new chapter in the "land to air docking" of Jinan Airport. As the first rail transit line in Jinan city to enter the airport, after its opening, the one-way time from Longdong to Airport South Station is about 50 minutes, and the time from Jinan East Station to Airport South Station is shortened to about 21 minutes, greatly reducing the time and economic costs of passengers traveling by plane and building an economic "artery" between the city and the airport.
According to the official introduction, Line 3 Phase II is the first subway line to be completed and opened to traffic in the Phase II construction plan, and also the first subway line in Jinan City to connect to Yaoqiang Airport. Citizens can transfer to Line 1 and Line 2 through Phase II of Line 3, connecting transportation hubs such as Jinan West Station, Jinan East Station, Jinan Long distance Bus Station, and Jinan Yaoqiang Airport, achieving convenient connections between the subway, high-speed rail, bus, and airport.
In addition, with the operation of Terminal 2 in the future, Phase II of Line 3 will be connected to the airport's comprehensive transportation center for integrated transfer. Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport will integrate multiple transportation modes such as airports, high-speed railways, rail transit, highways, and urban expressways to achieve "zero distance transfer and seamless connection", and become a modern, efficient, and innovative comprehensive transportation hub.
In Future
Currently, Jinan's rail transit system operates three lines spanning 84.1 kilometers. The second phase construction plan includes six projects: Line 3 Phase 2, Line 4 Phase 1, Line 6, Line 7 Phase 1, Line 8 Phase 1, and Line 9 Phase 1. This expansion will add 164.21 kilometers and 121 stations to the network. All lines are under construction and progressing as planned.
The network will expand in stages: Line 4 and Line 8 (Phase 1) will open in 2025, followed by Line 6 and Line 9 (Phase 1) in 2026, and Line 7 (Phase 1) in 2027. Upon completion, Jinan Metro will feature eight interconnected lines covering 248.3 kilometers.
Changes in Timetable
After the initial operation of Line 3 Phase II, the operating service hours of Jinan Metro network will be optimized and adjusted synchronously. Line 1 will operate from 6:00 to 22:00, Line 2 will operate from 6:00 to 22:19, and the first train of Line 3 will operate at 6:00.
Among them, the last bus of Line 3 from Longdong Station to Airport South Station departs at 22:06, and the last bus from Airport South Station to Longdong Station departs at 23:10.
Line 3 will adopt a large and small route operation mode, with Longdong Station Airport South Station running on a large route (i.e. running from the starting point to the end point), and Longdong Station Tantou Station running on a small route (i.e. using one of the stations Tantou Station as a temporary end point). Among them, the daily operation from 6:00 to 20:00 adopts alternating large and small routes, and the daily operation from Longdong Station to Airport South Station adopts a single large route from 20:00 to 22:00.
